When exactly did it begin, the company's history? Strictly speaking, in 2008. That's when VADO was founded by Hermann Meyer. But actually, it all started back in 1967. That's when Hermann Meyer was born – as he puts it – in a shoebox. Because in the Meyer household, everything revolved around children's shoes and their production. His parents' company is still one of the most renowned children's shoe brands today.

Children's shoes – this topic has accompanied him throughout his professional life, first in his home region, then at Germany's largest children's shoe manufacturer, before he decided to launch his own brand. A good decision, because VADO has been one of the top brands in the industry ever since. Hermann Meyer successfully went his own way – "Go Your Own Way" is therefore also the company's credo. And he consistently continues on his own path as managing director, together with his own family.
